Figure painting has also been my field of interest. I experimented with dramatic lighting in this painting. With everything in the background being dark and cool, the only light source is the warm light in the front.

This is a set of imaginary still life with a limited palette of complementary colors. I did several line drawings, a value drawing, and two color studies before working on the painting. The complementary color of orange and blue ended up being my final decision.
The Garden
This is a scene created from one-point perspective. I also did several line drawings, a value drawing, and two color studies. I ended with a double complementary color palette of red and green, blue and yellow.

Underwater scenes have always been a topic I’m particularly interested in. People are used to seeing reflections of things above the water, it came to me that reflections from below the water might really be an intriguing angle.
